Whoo! Katherine Shaughnessey of Wool & Hoop did some groovy little crewel kits with Bucilla/Plaid and they're just darlin'!! I really like her designs, you can tell they come from the hand of an artist. And I was surprised at how easy crewel is - you can pick it up pretty fast, especially with a smaller design. If you find it compelling, you must have her book -- it's full of patterns and ideas for display that'll make your house look like you're Martha Stewart's younger, hipper sister. She even stitches some of them white-on-white, which really wowed me.
