Now here's a little sleep mask I think I must have! More at Hambone and Jennicakes - eye quilts and lavender pillows.

Mad Fun at Maker Faire

Got this note from my brother today:

So I got this AppleTV and I watch video podcasts whenever I run on treadmill. You can imagine my surprise when I was watching my favorite show, DL.TV, and... Watch the first two minutes of the show!

I love the review - so geekspeak!: "a total subversion of the cross stitching paradigm".

Amazon.com: Reviews for Subversive Cross Stitch: Books: Julie Jackson: "Not subversive - just sad, May 22, 2007, by Mink Sahafi (USA)

I don't own this book, but looked through it at a the home of an acquaintance. I think it's sad that people would focus hours of creative artistic effort to produce ugly sentiments. Before you buy this book, please ask yourself if what you choose to focus on, to create and display in your home, might have a subtle effect on your health, happiness, and life.

There are loads of cross stitch books from which you can produce works of art that are inspiring and help to create an environment of peace, beauty and well-being. I hope you'll choose one, because there is enough hatefulness and sarcasm in this world.

Oh, dear! I guess some people just don't get the joke. Ain't no hatin' in my game!

Breaking News!

photo by the eagle-eyed Derek Powazek

Check it out! I spy a wee Subversive Cross Stitch on the shelves in The Daily Show offices. Apparently it's from last night's show. I'm so excited, I haven't checked our Tivo yet, I had to tell you first! Isn't it crazy? Wow. Thanks to fabulous friends 'o Subversive Heather Champ and Derek Powazek for catching it and getting a screen shot!

I Loves Me Some Banksy

You're probably familiar with some of the graffiti stylings of the British artist Banksy, but I hadn't seen this "grannies" piece before. Also, I find his updates of thrift store paintings really thrilling. What a nut. In the very best way.

Nice!

Rory Evans over at Bluelines, the blog for Blueprint magazine said some awfully nice things about Subversive. (*blush*) She also shares some nice anti-cancer mugs she whipped up for a friend. Nice work!

F*cking Outside

To celebrate spring, enjoy this ditty from Jonathan Coulton: First of May! (not a song for kids or people who aren't fans of the "F" word, but I figure you're neither if you're reading my blog).
